HARMAN’s Soundcraft to Host “Mixing with Professionals” Sessions at Prolight & Sound 2014

FRANKFURT, Germany – HARMAN’s Soundcraft is hosting its popular “Mixing with Professionals” (MwP) training sessions at Prolight & Sound 2014 in Frankfurt. The sessions will offer formal training and demonstrations on Soundcraft’s Si Expression range and the groundbreaking new Vi3000 digital live sound console.

“We trained around 2,000 engineers over the past year on the Expression range as well as Vi and know the Vi3000 especially will draw lots of interest at the show,” said Keith Watson, Marketing Director, Soundcraft Studer & AKG, HARMAN Professional. “The MwP sessions offer a great opportunity to get hands-on experience with industry experienced engineers on hand to help and provide tips of the trade, everyone is welcome to join a session.”

The ‘all-in-one-box’ Soundcraft Vi3000 digital live sound console offers a host of state-of-the-art features, a new industrial design, 96 channels to mix, and onboard Dante. The Vi3000 uses the new internal Soundcraft® SpiderCore DSP based on sister company Studer’s Vista 1 engine, with Soundcraft’s Vi Version 4.8 operating software offering the new ‘3D’ Vistonics™ user interface, while adding a fourth 24-channel fader layer to improve access to the console’s 96 input channels. The surface operation and layout is similar to other Vi Series consoles, providing a familiar feel while offering expanded functionality. The Vi3000 also features upgraded microphone preamps and 40-bit Floating Point DSP processing for superlative sound quality.

The MwP sessions will be held on all four days of the show (March 12-15) in both German and English languages at the Harman booth F32 in Hall 8. More details are available at www.soundcraft.com/mwp/events.aspx.

HARMAN Soundcraft’s “Mixing with Professionals” Seminar Comes to Charlotte With Broadway and Live Sound Engineer Lucas “Rico” Corrubia

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina – HARMAN Soundcraft’s “Mixing with Professionals” (MwP) series is making a stop at The Fillmore in Charlotte, North Carolina on September 17, 2013, hosted by Broadway and tour sound engineer Lucas “Rico” Corrubia.

Corrubia has more than 25 years of experience as a live sound engineer for an enviable number of high-profile gigs. He is currently a sound designer and consultant for the Donny and Marie Osmond UK arena tour and hip-hop dance troupe “Groovaloo” and has worked on Broadway and national shows including “Miss Saigon,” “Footloose,” “The Who’s ‘Tommy,’” “The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber” and many more. He has been a concert sound engineer for Lauryn Hill, the B-52s, Christina Aguilera, Van Halen, The Roots, Frank Sinatra, Liza Minelli and other top performers.

Corrubia will give MwP attendees in-depth training on the Soundcraft Vi Series consoles in a relaxed atmosphere that allows plenty of hands-on time. If participants bring a USB stick they can save the settings and take them on the road for their next gig, or keep working on their settings using the Soundcraft Virtual Vi offline editors, which is available free on the Soundcraft website.

“I have had the privilege of working with some of the biggest names in the music business and on Broadway, which is as demanding—and thrilling—as you can imagine,” said Corrubia. “I find Soundcraft Vi Series consoles to be equally adept and completely reliable in any live sound situation, whether it’s working in the same location night after night or mixing one-off concerts with rock performers who can be completely spontaneous.”

The MwP sessions will be held on September 17 at The Fillmore, 1000 NC Music Factory Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28206.

Two time slots will be available from 9:00 am – 12:00 noon and from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm. The course is free to attend but registration is required and space is limited. Details are available at usa.soundcraft.com and participants can register via e-mail at Soundcraft-usa@harman.com.

HARMAN’s Soundcraft Launches “Mixing with Professionals” Program for Si Series Consoles

NORTHRIDGE, California – In response to popular demand, HARMAN’s Soundcraft has launched a new “Mixing with Professionals” program for its Si Series of digital mixing consoles. Building on its successful program for the Vi Series, these “Mixing with Professionals” sessions will offer fully hands-on training, focusing on Soundcraft’s Si Expression and Si Performer consoles.

“Mixing with Professionals” Si Series training sessions will be held throughout the United States and hosted by factory-trained Soundcraft sales representatives. Guest engineers will join them to share their experiences with Soundcraft consoles and to provide additional training. These 3-hour sessions will follow a classroom format of six “stations”, with one to four people per station, working on either an Si Expression or Si Performer console.

“Our ‘Mixing with Professionals’ training programs have been so overwhelmingly popular that, combined with the success of our Si Expression and Si Performer lines, we have received considerable demand to expand our training to include these products,” said Katy Templeman-Holmes of Soundcraft Studer. “Training is free and open to anyone wanting to learn, or to more advanced users looking for additional tips and tricks to get the most out of their Si consoles!”

Anyone interested is invited to register online at http://usa.soundcraft.com/mwp/events.aspx or navigate to the Events Calendar at http://usa.soundcraft.com/mwp/events. Guests are asked to bring their own headphones to the sessions (mini or ¼”).
