HARMAN’s Martin Lights Famous Le Cornouaille Music Festival

QUIMPER, France — Renowned French music festival, Le Cornouaille, hosted several world-known artists including Steve Hackett (Genesis Revisited), Dan Ar Braz, Murray Head, Salif Keita, and Goran Bregovik among others. The festival, held in the French region of Brittany, featured 3 main stages each supported by several of HARMAN’s Martin lighting consoles and luminaires. French rental company SIWA provided the gear.

Lighting of the main stage, "Espace Gradlon," was controlled with a brand new Martin M6 console operated by François Guillet of Lumières Utiles and Jo Nihouarn of SIWA. "The M6 T-Bar and CITP are very powerful tools for improvisation. The M6 allows me to choose media directly with media thumbs and crossfade smoothly between video cues and media speed. I really enjoy working with those two splendid tactile screens,” commented Guillet. The lighting desk was backed up with a networked M1 console. Additionally, 12 LC 2140 LED panels paired with a Maxedia compact were deployed.

The second stage, "L'Evéché," was illuminated by a full LED design without the need of bulbs, discharge lamps or halogens. Controlled by a M1 console, the stage featured 8 Mac 350 Entour and 12 MAC Aura LED profile fixtures. “This is our second show with this green design that includes 60 fixtures, par cans, profile, Fresnel or LED Bar and only 3x10A,” explained Yves Guegan, CEO, SIWA. Maxime Saint Bonnet and Erwan Corre of SIWA controlled the lighting using a conventional desk plugged in with Martin’s DMX Interface to adjust the front lights and effect speeds. “The DMX Interface is a very simple feature of the M Series that provides good control solutions,” added Guegan.

"Saint Corentin" was the third stage reserved for Breton Dances, the traditional dance of the Brittany region. “Saint Corentin” was illuminated with 8 Mac 250 Entour controlled by an M1console.”

HARMAN’s Martin M6 Console Lights Up UK’s Global Gathering Dance Festival

AARHUS, Denmark – As one of the largest dance festivals in the world, the Global Gathering, in its 12th year, brought some of the world’s most renowned DJs and live acts to numerous stages during one weekend of non-stop dance and electronic music in Stratford-upon-Avon, UK. Electric Fly Productions was contracted to design and supply the lighting for all seven arenas involved in the 2013 festival and deployed a HARMAN’s Martin M6 lighting console on the main stage for full control of the intense lighting, in addition to deploying a vast amount of Martin lighting fixtures.

Martin EC-20 video screens were used to backlight the stages throughout the Gathering, controlled by P3 system controllers and a Maxedia PRO interface. Numerous Atomic strobes were strategically placed to light up all of the stages.

The M6 is a state-of-the-art lighting console that functions as an advanced ‘visual control’ surface, and is designed from the ground up to control anything from conventional and moving lights, digital fixtures, LED pixels and a full range of media servers.

“I was able to demo the M6 during the Global Gathering and I loved it,” said Nick Jevons, Main Stage Lighting Designer, Electric Fly Productions. “I have my own M1 and with its similar operating system, I was very comfortable relying on the M6 at the main stage throughout the festival. It’s quick to program, quick to edit and there is plenty of space to lay out the desk for playback.”

Harvest Ministries Boasts First HARMAN Martin M6 Console Installation, Worldwide

RIVERSIDE, California — HARMAN’s Martin newly released M6 console has found its first permanent home, installed at Harvest Ministries in Riverside, California. When the house’s original Martin Maxxyz console began to show its age after a long and prosperous run, in-house Lighting Designer Christopher Eguizabal began searching for an upgraded console to keep up with the constant stream of ever-changing events, varied lighting rigs and stage designs.

“The week we installed the M6, we had a guest artist playing and I was able to use it in a concert-style environment here at our venue,” Eguizabal stated. “The console’s encoder knobs made programming much easier and faster than I have experienced on any other console. M6’s touch screens feel great and the amount of playback faders, combined with the play pairs and Submaster module, plus the amount of user-definable buttons, allows me to customize my console exactly how I want. Programming and operating the M6 is incredibly fluid and free.

Based on the proven M-Series software by Martin, M6 provides users the ultimate control surface for fast programming and extensive playback control. The state-of-the-art console is designed to control everything from conventional and moving lights to the most advanced media server, meeting the demands of today’s venue’s high-intensity visual needs.

Harvest Ministries recently installed a 37 by 8-foot LED video wall across the back of its main stage, where a Martin Maxedia server and the M6 easily handle the lighting and video cues through its intuitive interface.

“We are incredibly pleased with the purchase of our M6 and look forward to many years of fun and creative programming,” Eguizabal continued. “Being more than just a lighting console is what makes the M6 an incredible tool for our venue, especially having our lighting and visual media content integrated through our Maxedia media server. Not only has the M6 made our transition into a new console smooth, but the performance also provides us with the power we need to put on exciting shows.”
