HARMAN’s DOD Reissues Bifet Boost 410 With Selectable Buffer On/Off Operation

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – HARMAN’s DigiTech today announced the introduction of the DOD Bifet Boost 410, a guitar volume boost/EQ pedal with a twist – the new Bifet Boost 410 features a Buffer On/Off switch that takes the built-in buffer in or out of the circuit to deliver the best-possible performance from wherever the pedal is placed in the player’s effects chain.

“Some players like to use their pedals in true bypass to maintain a pure signal path throughout their pedalboard, while others like a pedal with a buffer to counter the signal loss of boards that are packed with a lot of pedals,” said Tom Cram, marketing coordinator, DigiTech. “The Bifet Boost 410’s selectable Buffer On/Off makes it adaptable to any player’s setup and sonic requirements.”

In addition, the selectable operation enables the Bifet Boost 410 to be used as the first pedal in the chain in front of a fuzz pedal – many fuzz pedals don’t sound right or react properly to a player’s changes in guitar volume with a buffered pedal in front of the fuzz.

The DOD Bifet Boost 410’s Volume control can deliver up to 20dB of clean boost– enough to add anywhere from a hint of grit to a huge 20+dB of boost to hit the front end of an amplifier and drive an already cooking tube amp into distortion. More than just a straight volume boost pedal, the Bifet Boost 410’s rotary EQ Tone control can tailor the sound from dark and sweet to bright and sparkling and everything in between.

The Bifet Boost 410 also works well as an “always on” pedal to create a “bigger” tone with greater touch sensitivity. Many experienced players will find that using the pedal this way enables them to get an expanded range of dynamics, tonal shadings and overdrive flavors simply by adjusting their guitar volume knob.

The DOD Bifet Boost 410 further improves on the original 410 Bi-Fet Preamp with the addition of its bright blue LED indicator that’s easy to see on any stage, and a 9-volt DC power supply input. Reflecting its vintage roots, the Bifet Boost 410 features DOD’s classic retro-1980s graphics, easy-grip knobs and road-tough metal enclosure.

The DOD Bifet Boost 410 will be available in August 2014 at a suggested retail price of $149.95.

HARMAN’s DigiTech Is Now Shipping Its DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 and Phasor 201 Re-Issues

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – HARMAN’s DigiTech today announced that it is now shipping its DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 and Phasor 201, re-introductions of two of the most renowned guitar pedals ever created. Marking the rebirth of the legendary DOD brand, the Overdrive Preamp 250 and Phasor 201 retain all of the sonic magic of the originals while incorporating improvements like true bypass, 9V power adapter jack and other refinements.

“Even though they’ve been long discontinued, these pedals have never lost their desirability and are still sought after by players worldwide,” said Scott Klimt, Marketing Manager, DigiTech. “Now, musicians everywhere can enjoy these classic sounds once again.”

The pedals are not strict re-issues; their paint jobs, graphics, functionality and sounds pay homage to the vintage pieces, while incorporating improvements that better accommodate the needs of today’s players.

The DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 is one of the most all-time coveted overdrive pedals in rock and roll history, thanks to its ripping, crunching tone, tons of boost and ability to push an amp into the edge of breakup…and far beyond. The new Overdrive Preamp 250 captures the sound and wild heart of the original yet is even better than before with true bypass, a blue LED indicator, clearer tone, and a modern9-volt DC power supply input. As if that weren’t enough, the Overdrive Preamp 250’s output is significantly higher and cleaner than the original, giving the new 250 an incredibly polished sound. Even the familiar yellow finish has been upgraded to a striking two-tone metallic flake and matte black paint job.

The Overdrive Preamp 250 offers Gain and Level controls. Gain controls the amount of distortion from just a touch of grit to all-out grind, and Level dials in anything from a subtle enhancement of body and girth to huge amounts of boost for standout soloing. While the original would color the sound even when off, the new pedal’s true bypass makes the Overdrive Preamp 250 far more performance and pedalboard-friendly.

The DOD Phasor 201 was one of the first phaser pedals ever made, and the new Phasor 201 brings back that classic analog phaser “swirl” that can’t be duplicated by any other effect. The new pedal is better than ever with true bypass, a crisp blue LED indicator, 9-volt power supply input and sleek two-tone metallic flake and matte black finish. Like the original, it’s simplicity itself to operate – just one knob to control the speed of the phasing effect, with stellar sounds at any range.

The DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 and DOD Phasor 201 will be available for a limited time only at a suggested retail price of $149.95 each.
